BLT Training was born from Lynn’s recognition that many landlords lack the structured guidance and resources needed to build positive, professional relationships with their tenants. By combining evidence-based learning principles with practical, real-world landlord experience, Lynn has created resources—including self-assessments, workbooks, and courses—that help property owners:
Lynn’s approach is pragmatic, empathetic, and grounded in the understanding that successful landlording requires both business acumen and genuine respect for the people who call your properties home.
Lynn Tonini lives in Pennsylvania and continues to actively manage rental properties while serving the landlord community through BLT Training.
Mission:
To transform how landlords relate to tenants from transactions to trusted partnerships through educational resources that emphasize relationships over regulations.
Vision:
To set the national standard for landlord education that focuses on the human side of property management.
Lynn Tonini brings a unique perspective to landlord education, combining 30 years of professional expertise in learning assessment, training design and development, and change management with nearly two decades of hands-on experience as a property owner and her formative years as a tenant.
As the founder of BLT Training, Lynn is dedicated to transforming the landlord-tenant relationship by helping property owners develop the skills, mindset, and practices that create positive rental experiences for everyone involved.
Professional Background
Lynn’s extensive career in instructional design and organizational change management has equipped her with the tools to create effective, results-oriented solutions. As an Instructional Developer, she has spent more than two decades designing learning programs that drive behavioral change and improve performance outcomes for organizations including Ahold Delhaize USA, Highmark, Inc., and Milton Hershey School.
Her expertise includes:
Lynn holds a Master’s degree in Training & Development from Penn State University and a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Gettysburg College, where she graduated cum laude.
What sets Lynn apart in the landlord training space is her deep, personal understanding of both sides of the rental relationship. Over 19 years as a landlord—first managing properties jointly for 15 years and then independently for 4 years—Lynn has navigated the challenges, decisions, and responsibilities that come with property ownership. She understands firsthand the complexities of tenant screening, maintenance issues, communication challenges, and the delicate balance between protecting your investment and providing quality housing.
Equally important, Lynn’s early experiences as a tenant in four different apartments with four different landlords gave her invaluable insight into what tenants need, value, and respond to. She knows what it feels like to be on the receiving end of both excellent and poor property management, and this perspective informs every aspect of BLT Training’s curriculum.
